Yesterday I raised concerns about overly zealous politically correct influences that I don’t believe are helpful to promoting the “get along attitude” that most Australians have.

What most of us enjoy is a  “get along attitude” because it is more accepting than mere tolerance that is promoted with a divided and fragmented community.

After yesterday’s comment I got a message online from one of my friends who thought I was getting caught up in a media beat up and even fabricating some hysteria about an issue that he doesn’t think exists at all.

Now the reason this person doesn’t see the intolerance towards others in the same way the rest of us see it is quite simple.

He gets along with other people, including those who have different religious beliefs to him, he doesn’t just tolerate them, he accepts them and often as friends, like most Aussie do,

But that doesn’t mean that Australia’s freedoms and cultural icons, the traditions and cultures that we know and love aren’t under attack and don’t need defending.

What makes Australia a better place is the freedom to celebrate religious celebrations openly and freely and for us all to embrace each other in acceptance.

and if some whinger or politician or administrative panel or public servant writing a memo tries to tell us we can’t celebrate those beliefs openly for fear of some fictional person taking offence....tell em to

Yesterday after 8 o’clock you (Grant Goldman on the Grant Goldman morning program on 1269AM 2SM on the Super Network) had an interesting discussion with a caller about the background of Egypt.
As you said - Egypt was once a Christian nation.
If we look at Egypt today it is harder to find a Christian, certainly hard to find one who is still alive that is.

So how does a nation, go from being peaceful, mostly Christian to become a nation with dedicated to wiping out Christians?

If we look across Europe, the United Kingdom and even here in Australia we can see how these things happen, and they are happening in our lifetime.

One group of people with different views and different ways of doing things begin to grow in number and conflicts occur, and eventually they take over power in the country.

While ever there is a peaceful majority that believe in acceptance or even tolerance, everyone gets along.

If the push for Multiculturalism favours immigrants who have strongly different beliefs, and our welfare system supports them having more children....
Do we really believe that their grandchildren won’t want to take over and change this country just as happened in Egypt hundreds of years ago, will they?
