Gas fracking makes local Sydney residents understandable nervous

The NSW Government is trying to reassure Sydney-siders over plans to allow drilling for gas underneath some of Sydney’s busiest suburbs, like St. Peters.   Frankly the more they spin and try to control the community backlash  and make  hollow promises of extensive community consultation and that it will be an environmentally responsible project  against the historical setting of the farce of what the desal plant has become, among others, while at the same time falling over themselves to sell off NSW electricity production their words are not only empty, hollow  but  understandably un-nerve local residents where the gas drilling is planned

with their tenacious  persistence to reinforce to the public their total inability to grasp community concerns on projects like this and the sole focus being on cashflow into NSW government coffers the government is not only showing its inability for long term genuinely balanced planning but also a lack of ability and willingness to listen to and comprehend the public’s deep concerns.

With a state election just months away. you would think they would actually be listening not just going through the motions wouldn’t you?

Its none of our business, so why is it news worthy?

Last Friday I confessed I'm not a huge fan of Oprah, and that's comment is on my turnitupmike dot blogspot dot com with every day's comments and links to relevant stories for anyone who wants to follow up on something I raise, and today's is a bit of a follow up from that.
One of the issues that came up recently about Oprah was her sexuality and relationships, not just Oprah, this sort of closet sexuality rumour gets spread around from time to time.
Frankly it is none of my business but what is is the validity and veracity that some media give to unsubstantiated rumours.
Now I'm no cheer-leader for what I might call the minority sexual persuasions but what I don't understand is why someone would make such accusations at all.

Is it their way of saying I know these people so well I know something you don't, then they ride the gossip wave for their 15 minutes of fame.
These kinds of rumours and accusations are a public mischief blurring the lines between factual credible news and unsubstantiated rumour and innuendo.

I know there will be some people saying what friends Oprah has and what the details of her relationships with those people is newsworthy … Turn It Up!

Do we really want fearful brainwashed children that are afraid of sun, air, soil and water?

Wendy Harmer's column Sunday's Telegraph (page 41) is about the mind rubbish that is brain washing this generation into eating dangerously. ...Feeding them a diet of commercialized fear and brand endorsed foods that put profit over health.

Many children today carry mental burdens of fears like their fear of going out into the sun they think they will get cancer and die if they get a suntan.
(Then they also carry around brand food images and negative fears that have been implanted into their plastic brains to maximise brand loyalty.)

Now I'm not doctor or trained medical practitioner so this is just my opinion but I actually think many of us could do with more sun at times. We need some exposure to the sun to get our vitamin D to keep our bones and immune systems healthy, ironically Vitamin D helps to fight cancers and if we are eating nutrient and antioxidant rich foods that is what keeps us healthy from sun damage.

But our children are being brainwashed by advertisers who want to feed them their profitable products and services and the message they are getting is not about eating nutritious and healthy foods, but a fear campaign for long term impact.
But do we really want our children growing up fearful of carbon dioxide? Of the air? The Sun? Some children won't even get soil on them because of their childhood fears of germs.....Turn It Up, I'm Michael Robinson.
