For most of us blokes the excitement some people show over the big sales is akin to shopping grand final championship round but two days ago social media and news services around the country were buzzing with interest in the New Year Sales but the interest was in a spelling error that trended as one of the leading New Year’s Sales topics.

Now even though we have been moving house my wife has still been planning when she’ll go to particular sales.

I guess I should be grateful for that so we can score a bargain and purchase something we need and get it at half the price it would normally sell for.

But the over the top obsession some people display with being a part of the sales day excitement, that is something I think most blokes will just never understand.

Other things I don’t understand is how the Myer stores managed to run an ad campaign with spelling errors in the final copy.

Imagine my surprise when the news this week was more about spelling errors in the  Myer’s sales with their  7 storey promotional posters and some of their in-store material being produced with errors,

Simple things like the word Saturday and the word gets they got wrong.

Apostrophes can be notoriously difficult at the best of times but the Myer poster used the unique spelling of G E T apostrophe S, that’s right, instead of the early bird GETS the worm according to Myer it is Now The Early bird GET’s The Worm.

Turn It Up
