One of the Labor party’s big boasts is their claim to having good economic credentials.....but that claim is  difficult to take seriously.

The Rudd Labor government pushed plenty of money into the economy, but
How they spent it was a bit like shouting everyone in the playground a bag of lollies from the canteen.  


They had plenty of money so they shouted everyone ten dollars worth of lollies and had them put in pretty party bags with a ribbon on them and but the bill was sent to the taxpayer who ended up paying $30 a bag.

Now of course the government wants to boast and say they gave everyone a $30 lolly bag and

Sure the canteen’s turnover figures looked vastly improved great and their suppliers were happy and they probably put on more staff but weren’t we really spending $30 on something worth ten dollars.

Now I know the government will point out things like the school laptop computer scheme but many teachers are still fumbling around trying to work out what to do with the laptops that students were given.  


Years down the track we now see they are an expense and students are not getting the value from that expense because teachers haven’t been trained in what to do with them to turn that expense into an asset or a benefit

And that is the problem with Labor’s approach to the economy.  

Government spending that costs us all more money than the benefits it generates …. and they want us to thank them for spending the money.... Turn It Up
