Profits are good

Thursday morning's comment on 2SM

When government’s talk about slugging businesses with extra costs and compensating households it is important that we all understand what that actually means for us.

Consider everyone in business in Australia, from the mines, the aluminium industry right through to small local manufacturers with a handful of employees.

Every day they make a decision about whether the cost of doing business in Australia continues to be profitable, or not.

Additional costs like the government pricing carbon costs at 20 or 30 or more dollars a ton more than other countries... has a direct effect on more than that business and it’s employees.

Profits means taxes are paid, local investment is made and economic benefits flow on to the nation.

Profits mean everything from local employment right through to returns for shareholders of superannuation funds.

Of course government decisions to increase costs on all businesses also means less jobs in Australia, a less productive economy, and less export earnings as well as more imports… and that is exactly what this governmentcoalition want for our future...moving forward …

...Turn It UP.
