Media Watch "PC Gone Mad" - Turn It Up Mike

Media Watch – Junior Master Chef Advertisers -
Episode October Long Weekend Monday 4th October.

Segment :Turn It UP Mike – Media Watch Segment on Master Chef Advertisers

Radio 2SM 60 second spot Tuesday, 5th October, 2010.
with Grant Goldman

I don't often take the time to watch the ABC's Media Watch program, and last night's episode confirmed why.

First they exposed Woman's Day for taking journalistic liberties with their Kate Ritchie wedding day cover story but then the segment was political correctness gone mad.

In a piece written by Greg White at the Coffs Habour Advocate
Greg gives readers his opinion about the now former Sports Minister Kate Ellis MP and how attractive she is. Well that is widely acknowledged neither Greg nor the Advocate have made a factual mistake there.

But then the Media Watch host starts to rip into the Junior Master Chef PROGRAM itself
and on what you might well ask? What spin, shenanigans and falsehoods are the people at Junior Master Chef up to?.

Well according to the next 4 minutes and 56 seconds of Media Watch the advertisers who advertise their products during the ad breaks in the Junior Master Chef episodes are not complying with the voluntary anti junk food advertising code that they haven't signed … Turn It Up.

I'm Michael Robinson.
