Pity vote requested by local MP

Last week my wife took an interesting phone call. It is the first time we've had our local member call our home and ask to speak to us and I thought the topic of discussions was worth a mention.

The message this sitting ALP candidate, a former Minister, is giving the local voters is that the ALP expect the Libs will win 7 or 8 times the number of seats the ALP will so the ALP members are desperate, so desperate they are finally talking to people one on one, talking, but who is to know if they are listening?

I think a lot of people will suggest that this tactic might have worked better if over the past few years the Government had actually listened more closely when the local people begged them not to cut bus services but the relevant Minister held community consultation and then ignored what the community said.

Issues and treatment like that tend to get remembered.

To have the local member phone us now and ask for at least a pity vote.

…....Turn It Up.
